Just saw this on GP knives. Looks really cool. Wish it wasnt AUS 8 though.

I picked one up from knifecenter and I am very happy with it. It is a very well built folder and mine is extremely smooth for a lockback. Its downsides are it is thick and heavy. Ka-Bar has Taiwan make them some great folders. For the money they are great knives and its very comfortable and heavy. The double guard gets slightly in the way for some tasks, but for the most part its comfortable. You should get it, you will not regret it.

I love the looks of it, and I just got a Bull Dozier last month. I have just placed my order for one so it should arrive within a week. Fletcher, you said it is a linerlock? Info on it says lockback. Maybe just a mistype. :D

Ka Bar's AUS 8 seems to hold up pretty well. And this is coming from a steel snob. Really, its all about the heat treat. I've found that as long as the company knows what their doing, then it's all good. I never wouldve thought that I'd EVER own a 440A blade knife, but I absolutely ADORE my BUCK Nobleman.

wierd ka-bar's website doesnt have this but pretty much every ka-bar dealer does

ive read lock-back on every site ive seen it on so far fyi

AUS-8A steel is actually quite decent steel.
Give it a try!
Kabar's heat-treat is good and you won't be disappointed.

I have one of the smaller AUS-8A Kabar Dozier folders (got it for only $14.95 - on sale) and I've beat the living tar out of that folder with yardwork and home repairs. Takes and holds an edge VERY well and is still a tight lockup...

Regards,
Mike

I believe it has a pocket clip.

KA BAR is kinda slow to get their new stuff on their website. Took a while to get the Beckers up there.

I think I spoke without thinking clearly about AUS8. I have a BM in AUS8 that holds an edge quite well actually, and KA BAR has always done heat treat right, so I'll bet it's just as good if not better.

Guys I am sorry I meant to say smooth for a lock back but I was playing with a liner lock when I wrote it, it is a lockback. It does have a pocket clip that is tip up only. The MULE was one of my go to hard use folders for a couple of years and it performed like a champ. The bobcat is easy to resharpen but I will admit I have not used it super hard yet.

Found a picture of the backside on ebay, and I love the clip! A foldover deep carry clip that looks to hide the entire knife inside your pocket. GPKnives list the Bobcat as weighing 8.3 ounces, which will definately be a handfull. Fletcher, what thickness is the blade, and liners?
