Anybody have input on this knife? At only a $30.00 knife AUS8 made in Taiwan I have my suspicians. However, I am considering a Spyerdo Delica VG-10about $10 more and made in Japan. Input is appreciated.

Go with spyerdo better steel for only 10 bucks more. Nothing wrong with ka bar dozier, it is fine knife for the price.

yeah, it is a good knife, but if you can a spydie for 10 bucks more, do it.

Look for a better price. Not sure where you are, but on-line in the US the KaBar Dozier in AUS8 goes for less than $20.

You can buy a Byrd for less than $20, but not a Spyderco.

For less than $20, it's hard to beat the KaBar.

If you can find them on sale, the folding hunters in D2 are worlds better compared to the AUS8. Between the AUS8 KaBar and the VG10 Delica, I would definitely take the Delica.

I have both and really like each one. The AUS8 blade on the Dozier Hunter is the best AUS8 blade I've ever had. It stays sharp for a long time. For all around ergonomics the Delica wins. It is easier to open and close. The thumb stud on the Dozier is too close to the handle. The lock back on the Dozier seems to far back and is a tad harder to release. The Dozier Hunter can be had at AG Russell for only $19.99 plus shipping.

I have the Delica 4 and a Ka-Bar Dozier 4062. The Delica costs twice as much so it is really not a fair apples to apples comparison. The Delica wins, better steel, better fit and finish, better ergos, smoother opening and closing, better clip. Yeah, it's worth spending the extra $10-$20 IMO.
