understood, but in the other thread people tended to focus on the spear part and i wanted just some more info on the knife itself. that doesnt mean i dont appreciate everyone who actually had helpful posts on the other thread, i just needed some more info

What else do you want to know?

I just looked at the first FIN thread of yours where the spear came into play....several people gave you opinions about the knife, both positive and negative.

It's hardly a matter people focusing on spears.

And it seems like in the other thread, everyone either explicity suggested for or against it, or implicitly suggested against it by suggesting another knife from your list.

sorry the fixed. i have heard that it is kinda uncomfortable chopping and batoning because doesnt absorb shock as well. how effective is the glass breaker? is the d2 steel really THAT hard to sharpen? how is the sheath?

The knife is stout and will take anything you throw at it. That being said, there are definitely better designs for outdoors and camping, but the FIN will do fine in that role if you want to use it like that.

The thing to keep in mind is that the FIN knives are NOT designed to be camp or survival blades. They are designed for police and military operations. The designer, Peter Janda was in the Czech army and teaches at the Tactical Defense Institute.

The knife was designed to provide a strong blade of suitable length for most of the operations that a SWAT or military member would do with a fixed blade. It has a very flat profile. It can ride on a harness, vest, etc, without snagging or getting in the way. Since most operators wear gloves, the grips are pretty aggressive.

I beat on mine hard and it was fine. I didn't use the glass breaker to break glass, but I did use it to drive nails. I wouldn't want to take a hit from it.

The blade is around 4mm thick. It has a very slight hollow grind. It is a full width, full length tang. The entire blade (even under the scales) is epoxy coated. The FRN handle scales are secured with allen screws AND epoxy.
