Ka-bar Fin

hey saw a kabar fin on amazon. never saw one before. what are they like? all thats listed is stainless steel, what is it actually? made in usa? any review and pics pics pics would be nice

just ordered one. if its a toooj design i want it. 38 bucks cant be beat. i just hope its good. so any reviews would still be appreciated
 
nm wasnt designed by toooj, just crossed referenced and the first site was wrong. oh well its already ordered
 
That design would belong to a Mr. Peter Janda. He started making customs with his father and brother in Czechoslavakia. He served in the Czech army during the Cold War. He then came to the states, and showed up at John Benner's place, known as the Tactical Defense Institute, or TDI. After training, learning and teaching at TDI, Mr. Janda went on to start FIN Designs, which showcased custom knife and gun sheaths, based on real world combat. Once he hooked up with Kabar, well, now we have the FIN knives.

I think they are some great knives, with some unique designs, and features, that make them what they are. I promise you this, no one is gonna mistake the look of them.

Good call on the FIN, let me know how you like it, and how it works, as, I've never owned one.

will do moose. ill do a full write up when it gets here. hopefully the aus 8 performs as well as the same stuff in the phat bob. if it does, this thing is gonna be legendary. the design is cool and it looks like a very slim folder that can get lost in the bottom of a pocket if need be.

Same steel, same heat treat as the Phatty. AUS8 and heat treat are coming from the same shop, I don't think you'll find much issue with the knife.

I had one of the fixed blade drop points in D2. A solid a knife as I've ever handled. I beat the hell out of that thing, literally. Then I ground it to a zero degree convex and beat on it more, to test the thin edge. Never any problems. I decided I liked the factory style better than my convexed one, so I sold it. Some people didn't like the handle but it didn't bother me.

I know they were discontinued, I need to get some cash and snap up a couple. I've seen them in the $45 range on ebay and amazon. I think I originally paid $80 at SMKW last time I was there.
 
hmm i guess i shoulda just searched first. to quick on the new thread trigger i suppose. Its ordered so ill do a write up asap

Nah, it's all good. I'm glad to see someone here getting one. I get paid in a few days, hmmm....
 
so how many posts/kabar knives/started threads till i can get my ka-barbarian #?
