The KaBar combat knife is the Federation's standard-issue combat and survival knife. It is 32.5 cm (12.8 in) and is standard equipment in survival gear and in emergency weapons caches aboard starships. Captain Kathryn Janeway uses one in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Macrocosm".

I was watching Star Trek Voyager, episode Macrocosm, and Captain Janeway grabs a survival pack, once she cracks it open, the knife that comes out, KA-BAR Next Generation.

Oh hell yeah. I been trying to find a screen shot, but so far no luck.

And yeah, I'm a Star Trek fan.

my love of trek was grandfathered.........

In the 70's grandpa had all the originals taped on his beta, he was an avid sci-fi reader right up until he passed at 87

I remember that episode vaguely Moose and I believe you are correct about the kabar next gen.

I wish a new trek series would come out or at least another trek movie continuing the last one which I enjoyed.

KAHPLAH!!!!!!

Outstanding! BTW, I'm rewatching all the STTNG episodes on Netflix at the moment. Will get to DS9 and Voyager shortly. :D

New movie May 17, 2013 'Star Trek: Into Darkness'

Voyager was the best of the Trek series (IMO). So, its only fitting the best Trek feature a great knife from one of the best knife manufacturers around.

Star Trek TNG is the best ever.

Janeway, would have to stand on Kirks shoulder's, just to kiss Picard on the ass.

I like em all, but there is only one Picard. 4 data's, and 2 Rikers. And a Ship's Councilor that don't kind ditching her gear and letting her knobs hang out.

Too bad Kabar didn't make knives in the future..........

Ha! I have a bunch of Star Trek on VHS, but I haven't had a VHS in a very long time! Hell my kids thought I was talking about the TV network VH1 when I brought it up. This thread makes me want to catch up with my dorky side!

This also saddens me, kids these days  That's why I hoard as many old TV's and whatnot as posible, refuse to let my favorite stuff go out of date.

And Moose is absolutely right, Other Captains try to overcome their obstacles, Picard simply "Makes it so." ;)

Believe all episodes of all ST series are available on NetFlix. I've been through ST TOS (via DVD, actually), ST TNG (just finished), and ST Enterprise and looking forward to DS9 and Voyager (after a short Battlestar Galactica break). Ah - geek tv. :D

I'm a geek to the max, specially when it comes to blades.

More Klingon fights in TNG, means more knife, bat'leth fights.

Plus, Picard gets his cha'dich on, and threatens to whip a Klingon's ass in the Great Hall.

Glad gravity only works on the ships, cuz totin' around them big hairy's would be difficult.

Picard for the win.
