I want to get a Ka-Bar fixed blade and was just wondering on the handle materials. There is kraton option and the regular stacked leather. I like the way the black kraton looks but i also like the leather handle and sheath almost evenly. Which ones better and what are some ups and downs of both. Thanks

I'm not a huge fan of Kraton. It feels good, but looks cheap to me. Any knife that came with a stacked leather handle would be my choice over Kraton, if g10 were available I might take that, depending on the knife.

Imo, the stacked leather is just perfect on the Ka Bar.

I've held a Kraton handled KA-BAR, and let me tell you, it's anything far from cheap. It feels great. Never had experience with the leather one.

Kraton: Tough, high quality, impervious to water.

Leather: Might be more comfortable, it will absorb water and requires more care, but boy does it look awesome!
