Picked up my first Ka Bar (1211) fighting knife after buying countless folders from various manufacturers and I must say, what an absolute beauty to own one. Being able to buy one under $90.00 with the plastic sheath is unbelievable, mine came close to razor sharp and the finish was flawless. The design of this knife and its long , storied ( American) history makes me want to pick up many more. Well done Ka Bar.

Thank you! :)

Anyway, glad to hear that you got your first KA-BAR, I've got nothing but good to say about mine.

Thanks guys, like I said this knife is incredible! I'm now working on improving the edge a bit with my Sharpmaker, although I've received tons of helpful tips suggesting a whetstone might be the way to go in achieving a better initial profile to allow sharpening with the Sharpmaker later. Any thoughts one way or the other would help!.multiple runs through the medium rods have given me hair shaving abilities though the edge seems jagged above the apex. Thanks.
