Ka Bar Heavy Bowie?

Howdy folks! New forum member here....

Anyone have anything to say about those new kabar heavy bowies? Anything comparable to what we'd find in a Becker, Trailmaster, Camp Tramp, etc?

I figure for $39, I can be the first tester if there's no one else out there.

I was looking at the Ka-Bar Kukri and Bolo last week at the surplus store. (They're usually overpriced and I think these were $59 each.) I believe they are part of the same series with duplicate handles of the heavy bowies.

They actually didn't feel too bad, particularly the bolo. I'm not sure I feel they're up to the quality of Becker, but they felt alot better than the sub-$50 Cold Steel goods.

If you get one, let us know how it holds up. :)
 
I just ordered one ($43 inc shipping). I'll let ya'll know (those who care) when I get it. I'll put it through the paces.
 
Where did you get this from? I called Ka-bar last week and was told they would'nt be available before the end of June.
 
I got one for my birthday - my lovely wife ordered it from knife center. They sent us an email saying they should have them in a few weeks, however, I heard about averageguy calling Kabar & being told something different & just figured I'd be waiting till the end of June. Guess we'll see... - I'll post when I finally get mine.
 
I noticed that Kabar has removed these knives from their website :confused:

They still list them on knifecenter & I haven't recieved any follow up emails indicating that the order is cancelled...? Guess I'll just be waiting & seeing what happens (not much other choice).
