Ka-Bar Id help

You seem impatient for an answer. This knife was made in the 1950s after about 1952. I do not know the model number but it is in very nice condition. I would call it scarce not rare, I have seen them before and have several different models with that handle. It was made after the company changed from Union Cutlery Co to KA-BAR, Inc.

Thanks for the info had never seen that handle or could really not find any pictures with that handle online. Was wondering if maybe it was not a factory knife. Some one had changed the handle. Sorry if seemed impatient was just trying to get answers on what it was for a friend.

You're quite welcome. Sadly (or thankfully) there is little info online on antique hunting knives or those from the 50s-60s. KA-BAR made variations of that handle from the 1940s-late 1950s. The handles to me are impractical because they are very heavy with all those brass spacers.

I would agree it s not really a practical design but looks cool. Just never seen one thought it may have been redone by some one or maybe something rare made for certain company or something by kbar. Would be a good display piece.

Yeah, it is a good looking knife in superb condition, I hope your friend gets it.
