Just curious how well the blade performs. It appears to be a stronger tip than the standard, but how much stronger? Also how is the blade design work when skinning/gutting an animal? How about for general camping chors? What are the strong and weak points of the design? Thanks.

The KBD1 is a Bob Dozier design. Its blade closely resembles that of the handmade Freedom Fighter model, which was offered from the shop shortly after the events of 911. With that in mind, the KBD1 design, along with may of its original "KaBar" models was made for field use. I suppose it you had to take animals to task while afield, you could make do with it. It' s tip is probably stronger than that of the familiar clip points on the original models. And can perform tasks on animal hides more efficiently. Some non military users of this model found it useful to ground off the top guard. This allows for choking up on the handle and proper thumb placement on the spine when performing certain tasks.
