Hey guys a quick question

Does anyone know how is the handle part of the blade on a KA-BAR Kukri? I mean is it sort-of full tang?Rat-tail? To the end?3/4 of the handle?
Tried to find a pic of a KA-BAR kukri blank but couldn't find any.
Reason I am asking is I wish to get rid of the plastic handle and maybe make some wooden slabs or handle. Just wanted to know in advance what I am going to face when I take off the rubber coating

Is it a proper rat tail going all the way to the lanyard? Thnx a lot for your input.

Giorgos,

The 1249 Khukri has, what is called, a full length narrow tang. The handle is attached and secured to the tang via the grommet/lanyard hole.
The tang is tapered but not a "rat tail" tang in the traditional definition of the term.
Hope this helps.
