Big pecan limb down this week...

Out came the Ka-Bar Kukri and off came the limbs. One swipe on 1"+ limbs.

Had it de-limbed in no time.

And then I chopped the bigger limbs into pieces.

One thing I really appreciate on this chopper is the slight hook on Tooj's handles. It really allows for a comfortable, secure swing.

Everything piled up. After the leaves dry out a bit, I'll burn it all up in the fire bowl.

If you don't have a Kukri Machete, you're missing out on a fantastic chopping tool!

Guyon,
"If you don't have a Kukri Machete, you're missing out on a fantastic chopping tool!"

Your darn right about that !!! The #1249 & #1248 are 2 AWESOME choppers. For pure chopping power.....#1249. For a close 2nd with knife features........#1248.

I own one, but so far I haven't been able to encounter anything that my BK9 couldn't handle to the point where I need to break it out.

Bk-9 is an awesome knife. Chops better than most could imagine. But the KaBar Kukri is just a flat out BEAST when it comes to chopping power. The sweet spot on the Kukri seems to be larger than other Kukri's (KLO's to the purists) I have. I don't know if it is the weight (have not compared the weights yet), the blade shape or the fact that most times you are hitting the wood with the curve of the blade ? Like an axe. Bites deeper. Don't know why, it just does. If taking down a small/ish tree, the Kukri would be my choice. YMMV. :D

EDIT: Just got home from work & looked up their weights. BK-9 is 18.25 oz. Kukri is 23 oz. Not sure if that little bit makes all the difference or not. I feel it is a combination of the weight forward design/curved blade & the weight difference all working in concert with each other. I have heard good things about the Swabbie due to its curved blade as well.
