KA-BAR Kukri or Cutlass Machete?

I recently acquired a KA-BAR Kukri in a trade. I love everything about the knife, but I'm wondering how folks compare it to the KA-BAR Cutlass Machete of identical steel and handle. I am skeptical of the usefulness of the Kukri design, and it seems to me that the cutlass might be a little more utilitarian. I'd love to hear if anyone has any feedback regarding the two versus each other.
