Initially, I was interested in a Hideaway. When I saw the price, it changed my mind and I went off looking for other options. I found these 2, the Ka-Bar Last Ditch and the CRKT Ringer and wondered which one is better. They are both under $20, so getting them both just to see isn't out of the question, however, I just wondered what you guys thought. Any other options?

Thanks,
James

If I were you I would pop for a few more bucks and get the KaBar TDI.

I haven't seen the CRKT Ringer in person yet, but I do have a Ka-Bar Last Ditch. It's made in China, inexpensive, thin, tiny and carries quite easily. The plastic sheath secures the knife adequately, but it feels cheap and I don't really like it's design. I would have preferred a more compact kydex sheath instead. It comes with a piece of black paracord if you want to carry it around your neck, but you can lace it up on the front of your boot or just use your imagination as to how you want to carry it. I got mine as gift, but I don't ever carry it. I tend to prefer more utilitarian designs and there are plenty of other neck knives and small fixed blades that are much more useful and can also serve as a last ditch personal defense knife if the need arises.
