I like the look of this knife and the reputation of Ka-Bar overall, but wanted to see if anyone carried it daily and what your thoughts on how this knife would handle that type of task.

Thanks.

I've got a couple of them that I frequently use around the farm. I'll leave it strapped on if I need to make a supply run into town as it is of legal size for public carry in Texas, but I never EDC them to a big city on a daily basis, preferring to use other knives for standard my EDCing. It's a work horse for general knife use. Would NOT abuse it trying to baton anything, as I have knives better suited for that, but it's more than strong enough for any run-of-mill knife tasks that any NORMAL person would encounter.

I thought about doing it. I decided to go with the bk17. Little bit more money but better suited for edc. Good luck with your decision.

IMO the 17s better for self defense IF I ever get stuck in that situation. The clip point on the 17 is pretty thick so I'm not to worried about the tip strength. I'm not going to be cutting apples with it I carry a sak or trapper for smaller task so I don't mind non ffg. Plus a clip point looks "scary" (lol) But that's just my opinion. Yrmv.
