Ka-Bar Mark 1 vs Cold Steel SRK

I know the "vs" stuff can get a little old. Anyone handled either or both of these? I would consider them comparables from Ka-Bar and Cold Steel. Both simular sheaths, handle designs are a little different. Havent handled the Mark 1 at all. Thanks for any info.

EDIT: So I went ahead and ordered a Mark 1 and I'll give my own review of it soon. May grab an SRK or SOG to compare it with. Im one of those annoying people that is very brand loyal. I will let you guys know how she preforms.

Really, two different breeds, IMO. The SRK is more from the "prybar" school of knifin'. :D Its thicker, and made to take some serious abuse. Much more than I think the MKI would take.

The MKI is more from the bushcraft school of, lets cut stuff, and not pry and beat on a knife. Not saying it can't do work, its just not in the same thickness category.

The SRK is 3/16", and has most of that thickness runs the length of the blade. Its design is simple, functional, and it feels good in the hands.

The MKI is slimmer, with a higher grind, stick tang handle, and will slice with the best of them.

You made a good choice with the MKI. My wife, LadyMoose, was checking out one of my giveaway boxes, and found it, the moment she grabbed the handle, she looked at me and said, "You're getting me one of these".

Women have the best bargaining chip God ever created. Damn.

just got my Mark1 plain edge today!!! I'm very impressed with it.blade shape is very comparable to SOG's northwest ranger I own the japan version, very close to each other.I just love the handle on the Mark1!! it fits and sticks, for right now it's the best way I can describe it.it feels great in the hand, and I have a great urge to thrust and stab with it. it will be a good working field knife I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one.I also bought a cutlass machete the poor mans JUNGLAS!
more on that later, this thread is about the MARK. get one UCPOPO and know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
