Ka-bar Mk1 Navy vs Becker BK16?

I tried to do a search b/c I thought somebody already talked about this. Has anybody handled both of these that could give insights? I have the MK1 and love it, though I wish the balance were on the index finger and not the second. Still a great knife though. How does the BK16 - drop point tweener compare in feel and overall weight?
 
I have both. I'm on my phone right now, but as soon as I get to a keyboard, I'll get you some intel.

the MKI is like a shorty/tweener wanna be in some ways. i feel they are both similar, though of course, the Becker model will sell more :)

i have a MK1 and like it a lot. also have the BK15, and like it a lot. soon enough as well, i'll have them all. why worry? buy now, play later
 
Well ,Since the US Navy Mk1 predates the tweeners by about 60 years you could make the argument that the BKT Tweeners are MK 1 'wannabees"..LOL;)

well, the original does predate by 60 yrs. this new one does not :)

i have no argument, just trying to show you i'm right :)

they're going to be very different knives of course, but for some, they DO like to compare similarities :)
 
I look forward to that. Moose, do you have both the leather and teh kraton versions of the Mk1? I would love to see all three at once if you have them.

I suck. I know.

First, I need to get some blades to compare it too, I have the Kraton handled MKI, and my BK16, but I can't find my leather handled MKI. Not sure if I lost it (doubt it) or gave it away (probably), or if I just put it in the back of my knife cabinet (who the hell can find anything in there).

SO, as soon as I get a leather MKI from Ethan, I'll get ya'll some pics.

I'm not sticking up for the "Antlered One". But as a rule, he is right on the ball, and his good deeds far outweigh his screw ups.

So Bullwinkle had an off couple of days cut him some slack. :D

I have added the appropriate smiley to my post. I was basically just horsing around also.
 
Just recieved my Mk1 and its a real nice looking knife and while not my Ontario Rat7 in toughness for a camping knife it will do just fine and is old school too boot. I like the look of the BK16 and will prolly pick that up for my son as a camping knife. Again neither one is going to replace my Rat 7, USMC Kaybar, or my RTAK for major wood cutting, battoning duties both look to be good blades.
