I put my KA-BAR mule folder through some rough use this week and it seems to be suffering from it. I was batoning with it (guess I should have had my hatchet with me...) and it is now one big slipjoint. It's tough, but I can close it just like a slipjoint now, and it fails every time on even light spine whack tests.
I looked at KA-BAR's warranty page, and it seems they don't offer repairs, only service due to manufacturer defect. I doubt that what I did falls under normal wear and tear.
I can't take it all the way apart (the pivot uses the tiniest torx screw I've ever seen) so I don't know what exactly is causing it.
If anyone has any idea how I can fix this or knows of someone who can, I'd be most appreciative.
