I just got one of these - was wondering what others who have had or have this knife think of it? Was also wondering if anyone has any pics of the knife's scales being modfied? To me this one is calling for White Micarta.

I've had one for a few months--great knife for 50 bucks. Good grinds,
super sharp right out of the box, tight lock. The only thing I don't like
is how the scales look with clip removed--white micarta would be very
cool.

How's the one hand action on it? I like the looks quite a bit, but the thumb stud seems as it might be a little to close to handle for easy opening.

I have the Phat Bob and I think that you're right. One hand opening involves deft thumb work, but you'll get used to it very quickly and I can promise that you'll love the knife!!

1/19/11, I guess that looks like 1/16/14:foot:

I've been considering the Phat Bob myself as I like the looks of this knife.

Phat Bob's a great knife for the money. Roughing up the thumbstud makes an easier one-handed open. The green Micarta handles have a finish that gives a 'worn in' feel, kinda like a pair of favorite shoes. The ergos are friendly, and the overall appearance doesn't scare bystanders. Its a little heavy, but the solid feel makes up for it. Phat Bob's a heavier near-ringer for the Dozier SK folder (one of my favorites) at about a tenth the price.

The Phat Bob is an excellent value for the money. It is easy to keep sharp and carries quite nicely, as well as being well made. Buy with confidence.
