I don't own any ka-bar knives, but they look really cool.
Anyone have opinions about them?
Do the fixed blade knives have full tang?
etc....

The USMC knife is great as are most of their military knives. They do have hidden tanges but they are by no means delicate and will take a lot of abuse.

Two of the best values in a general purpose fixed blade are the original USMC Kabar and the Camillus BK7...both are very capable and each have a huge following. I like them both!

Their leather handled hunting knives used to be imported and quality was not to my liking but I don't know about the current ones.

Good luck,

My Ka-bar Kukri is a great blade. Very sharp. I believe the blade goes deep into the handle because there isn't any give in any direction and I have chopped a lot with it. It is about 17 inches overall 3/16 inch thick teflon coated and it can chop like a large machete.

Ka-Bar USMC is one tough user. I love mine. Get the full size one. I think the current ones are made in the States.
