Bought a Kabar Becker BK17 for a gift for my son. The blade had a fairly minor cosmetic blemish - nothing that would in any way impair function - it just looked a bit funky. Contacted a Kabar representative (name withheld to protect him from fawning, adoring masses) who, when I sent him the great but not perfect knife, went to the warehouse and grabbed me a perfect one.

My son couldn't be happier. Thanks Kabar! In a time when some companies keep disappointing, Kabar keeps exceeding expectations.

It's easy to be a faithful customer for a company like Kabar.

I had a great experience with them as well......I lost a clip and they not only shipped me a free new on but included the hex key that fit it just in case I did not have it!

Ka Bar customer service is par none.....I'd accidentally stripped some of the screws on my TDI clip for my BK11 and they sent replacements and the T6 wrench! Awesome service and I looking forward in owning more of their fine products:)

I've never had a bad experience with kabar customer service. You really cant go wrong with a kabar. I don't understand why they don't offer replacement handles for their kraton G handled knives though, but they sell replacement leather handle kits??

That's been addressed around here before.

NOT EXACTLY SURE, but it was something along the lines of them being molded directly to the tang and not an actual production part.

IDK the specifics, but I do that I have a spare Kraton Handle now! ;) LOL. That's probably worth a miniature fortune in happiness per se.

P.S. I've had a small bubble in the coating that causes it to come off on both my LHB and 1245, never really thought too much of it though.

Kabar is fantastic. I posted a thread about trying to hunt with my USMC by throwing it (which I wasn't supposed to be doing) and I broke the pommel. They offered to replace it free of charge. I opted to not send it in because it was stupidity on my part and I didn't want to take advantage of their generosity.

It is fantastic to know that they had my back even tho I was in the wrong. They are a great company!

:D True that! I dislike leather handle/scales for only one reason, it holds oils and moisture in at the most structurally important part of the knife (In my humble opinion). That would make sense that they don't offer a replacement because they are directly moulded to the tang, before this, I wasn't even aware they were moulded to the tang. I assumed they were moulded to fit, and slid onto the tang after the guard, and before the pommel was peened. How snug is the kraton fitted to the tang, can you remove the tang from the handle? (Just wondering)
Hey btw, i'm still interested in that Kraton G handle and possibly the other parts aswell if it isn't too sentimental. I just got some machetes + flashlights + used right hand shooting glove(s) that need a new home, and I don't mind if they go for parts. (just more of a knife person) and I have a stripped M2 style blade that could really use some new hardware. ;)
