Ka-Bar Short Heavy Bowie: Tang type?

Hi all, first time poster here.

I've been looking at the Ka-Bar Short Heavy Bowie. It seems to have a good balance of features for my price range, but I haven't been able to locate any detailed info on the tang. It's hard to determine because the handle envelops it completely, even at the pommel, so I'm worried there might only be a dinky little bar or something like that, that won't stand months of hard use (batoning, etc.) I'm also looking at the Becker BK7, but I really like the handle on this Bowie.

So, anyone know what's hiding in that handle?

The hidden tang goes all the way through the handle and is secured by the tube of the lanyard hole. The knife on the picture btw is the large version (same contruction nonetheless) and today it looks totally different. I stripped the coating, so it is a naked Heavy Bowie now.
