I'm kind of on a kick right now looking for carbon steel folders. Now that Case is no longer making their large sodbuster with a 1095 blade, I was wondering if Ka-bar had a version in the vault they could resurrect. It seems the only carbon steel sodbuster designs to be had right now in the larger size are either higher-end semi-custom or lower-end imports. I think there might be a niche here for Ka-bar. What do others think?

I think the Sodbuster is an iconic knife, that has served many a person for more years than I've been alive.
Think it is one of the Great American Blade Patterns, and I would LOVE to see a Dogs Head Sodbuster.
I don't think it would be 1095 though, probably a stainless or D2 would be my guess, but hell, whats wrong with that.

Boker makes a large sodbuster in carbon steel, German Eye might also..

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a Queen in D2, and a German Eye on the way. I tried looking for a quality Boker sodbuster but all the ones I found on-line were made in China. I've read varied reviews of the Queen but am taking the chance anyway. Still, while D2 is a good steel, I'd still love to see a Ka-bar sodbuster with Toooj's 1095 mojo. Let's go really out there and do a Zombie Killer green delrin handle! O.k. just kidding on that last part.

I think that'd be great. I'd love for Kabar to go back into some of the traditional patterns, especially with 1095 steel. I'll take a Cro-Van 1183, please.
