Hey guys, so I bought the classic-styled KA-BAR a year or so ago, and ended up trading it. The blade seemed too soft for my tastes, though it may have been just my knife. I've been getting back into the idea of a blade of this style, and was curious which is your favorite? Do you guys like the KA-BAR brand, the Ontario, the Camillus, Case, etc. better? Also, any knife similar in design and shape such as the Blackjack Halo attack would work too. Just leave your thoughts and favorites here! :)

I've used the KA-BAR brand for many years for a user, including the military. I was never over impressed but it got the job done especially for the money.

I doubt the Ontario version would be any better than the Ka-Bar version. The TOPS USMC Combat Knife is basically an updated version of the Ka-Bar. And the Buck 119 and Blackjack 1-5 and 1-7 are similar.

You may want to look at DUSTAR knives, like the Model 1 Arad. Very similar to the Ka-Bar and made with D2. They are made in Israel and I think it's used by their Military. (Not 100% sure) They are a little more overpriced than it should be, but it is a good knife.

The BlackJack HALO Attack is a handful of bad-ass.

It's definitely a step up in performance.

Sorry, but I still prefer the real thing.

Still haven't found one I like better. Sure, there are some better designs, and better steels, but going strong since 1941, that says something........

Of course, I like the newer ones too....

I have the Ontario Spec-plus Marine and have been pretty happy with it. It performs well with in its intended range

MOOSE!!!! How dare you flaunt a toxic green Kabar without sharing!!!!!! BTW OP, 1942 Camillus, still going stong. Now it would be a Kabar.

The zombie green knife is not a Ka-Bar,its made by CUTCO as it states but, they have no right to put Ka-Bars name on their junk knives

I believe this is some sort of collaboration. I am afraid they have purchased the right.

This is my Kabar style knife. Cost a little bit more than a Kabar, though.

Wow that's amazing. It does seem as though the fuller should end a few milimeters short of where it does. That's a little surprising for a knife that no doubt cost a great deal. Unless of course that was what they/you were specifically going for. Amazing.

There's always the Gen 2 KaBar which comes in D2 steel. D2 is certainly not soft.

I've been considering one of those myself. The only thing keeping me away is the serrations. It seems they only come with serrations.... I hate serrations.
