A first for me, to feature a non-folding knife here. It's just so interesting, I couldn't let it go by. Look at this old knife, would ya!!

Charlie, that is too cool!! Very unique design, and I love that snap!! Looks like the knife was a very early Kabar for sure, think Dave'll be jealous?

Is it just me, or does it bear a resemblence to a Marbles Deweese(?) knife just a bit?
 
Do you have any history on the knife? where it's been and who owned it and for what purpose?
 
Thats a nice one Charlie. Interesting combination. The spine looks like something you would see on a more current tacticool knife or possible a pilots knife, or are they saw teeth?, but with an interesting choice of Stag scale materials. The Union snap is a nice touch :thumbup:

It is thin and light, and does indeed remind me of a DallDeWeese.
Ground to a zero edge, the DallDeWeese I had was much beefier.
The steel butt weighs a ton. The fellow I got the knife from said it is a fish-bonker, and I agree. Better watch how you hold it though!!:eek:
The balance point is near the butt, about 2/3 of the way across the stag.
Sheath is beat up, but a good relic!
It has the scaler, but seems too wide for filleting fish - go figure.
All in all an interesting knife, IMO.
 
Neat knife, I always liked that design. It's a very hard knife to find in nice shape, most have been used extremely hard when they show up.

I have to admit, when I catch a fish, most of the time it comes with fries and coleslaw!!:o:p

That's right Carl but I think you forgot the first step; use that dang butt to thump said fish in the head! :D It definitely looks as if it was designed with a purpose. :thumbup::cool: Very cool old knife.
