I've been eyeing one of these folders for a few months, and they look very nicely done, appearance-wise.

The design is by Bob Dozier, with a D2 blade and aluminum handles.

Does anyone have any experience with one of these?

I found out about them on A.G. Russell's site -

Thanks for any feedback!

...............the one I handled was very nicely done! I had a custom Dozier folding dagger at one time and this isa faithful reproduction (only smaller). D2 steel is a great steel also. Can't go wrong with this one!:D

I couldn't wait any longer on the "knife buying urge" so I just ordered one through A.G.

:D

DB1: Don't forget that the Thorn and Gerber Covert are the only two folders which can be easily made into double edged folders. Both have a false edge on top and a flat section for safe folding. Plus both have the blade completely protected by the handle when folded.

I definately would take a few hours and make that beauty into a double edged folder.

I had one and sold it to a buddy of mine.

What I didn't like about it was that no matter what I did with the pivot (loosening, Miltec with hair dryer), it still had a somewhat sticky action upon opening. The other thing I didn't like was the pocket clip, rode much too high for me.

What I did like was the blade in D2, very nicely finished and extremely sharp.

Bought mine from Knifeoutlet for $100.00, saw it two weeks later for I think $91.00 from Knifeworks. Sold to my buddy for $80.00, and he thinks it's perfect and that I'm a moron.

It's a great knife but I had others that I liked better.

I have one of these, very nice. Mine at first had a bit of a gritty feel to it but a little oil and it was SMOOTH.

The only thing I don't really like about it is the thumb stud. It is highly textured will rip a pocket to shreds in a couple of weeks. A little sanding or filing on it and it should be fine.

Nice buy:)

I have one as well. Very well made, nice looking little folder. Like Lightweight's, mine was a tad gritty and stiff out of the box. After an application of Tuf-Glide, it started to come around and now it is very smooth. GREAT lock up. No gripes here! The only complaint is the pocket clip. At the end of the clip, it needs to be bent up slightly to facilitate easy clipping to the pocket. Also, with the clip being bead blasted, it will show scuffs and scratches very easily. I've already managed to scuff and scratch mine all up already. I guess you can always remove the clip and put a hand-rubbed satin finish on it, something which I am contemplating on doing.

Well mine finally arrived and I was impressed by the shape and design of this little folder, as it is unique among the many other folders I have in this size range.

The integral blade guard is a nice touch.

They must have all come from the factory with the gritty opening, as mine was quite rough until I added a bit of oil.

I haven't done much cutting with it yet, but the blade geometry plus the D2 steel should make for a great EDC :)
