I was told I have my father's fixed blade KA-BAR from about 60 years ago. He was a Korean War vet but died in 1961 so I have no idea when he got this. The knife has not been used since his death so it got HARD use in the decade of his life. He was also big in the Boy Scouts in the mid/late 1940's, hence the letters BSA cut into the sheath. This makes me think he got this before he was in the war. BTW he was NOT a Marine but in the Air Force. Does anyone know how to ID the date of this knife?

I can see the pics. Can you upload one of the butt of the pommel?

The knife is WW2 vintage. These knives didn't exist prior to WW2. When the war ended the next contract for these knives wasn't written until late 1960's, and Kabar hasn't had any Government contracts for these knives since WW2. There were a lot of knives in Government warehouses that took years to deplete. A lot of the gear used in the Korean War was made during WW2.
