I want to know which knife would suit me better, I would not used these knives everyday. I am planning to keep them in my shed and only use them when it is self - defense or a very rare camping trip. So guys whats the recomendation? Don't flame at me, just a new knife person.

P.S. Which is a better tactical knife?

You can do better than both of these. Get a better idea of your true needs for a knife and get back to us.

If you heart is really set on one of these two knives, may I suggest the Ka-Bar.

Take a look at the Ka-Bar Becker BK-7 or BK-9, they are both stronger than the Ka-Bar USMC.

I'm almost certain the m9 bayonet from Ontario is made of a lower grade stainless steel. The Kabar will be more durable if you don't want one of the Beckers mentioned above.

For an occasional camping trip either one will be fine, I'm a Marine from NY so I'm biased to the Ka-Bar, I had one for 15 years and beat the hell out of it, never disappointed, the steel on the one I had was extremely easy to sharpen. I hacked, chopped, pried, and sliced with it. ka-Bar uses 1095 cro-van now, not sure what I had to be honest.

My son commandeered my Ka-Bar when he went hunting with his friends last year so I'm looking for another all-around fixed blade, maybe a Bark River Gunny.
