Ka-Bar warthog.... impact?

i was looking at the ka-bar warthog. it seems that many of the people on this forum have the "impact" version. is the different handle and the full tang a nice option?

usually i am not a fan of plastic handles, but i really like having a full tang. which is the main point i am interested in.

so, for those of you who have seen and used these two knives, tell me what you think.

From what I've read (using the forum Search feature); most of the people preferred the Impact version because there is no bladeguard compared to the regular Warthog - which made the knife handle somewhat uncomfortable in use.

It's a unique knife, I wouldn't mind owning one someday but there are so many others that I'd rather put that money toward for now.
 
I have the full sized version and love it. It handles everything i throw at it and then some from. From batoning logs to splitting kindling. You won't be disappointed.
 
My Warthog Impact is on order, I just bought one on E-bay yesterday. The bigger Warthog has those guards, which I don't need, at least not the top one. I do like the bigger blade of the reg model, at over 5 inches it was more what I wanted, but the Full Tang of the much smaller 3 5/8 blade Impact version seemed to look stronger. My thought was that even with the bigger 5" + blade, without the full tang, it would not be as strong as the smaller version with a full tang. Perhaps I am wrong. ??? So anyhow I ordered the smaller Impact Warthog. I'll post my thoughts on this one once it arrives and I get a chance to try it out in the woods.
 
this is what i expected for the most part... i think i will be getting the smaller one....unless after picking the original up i cant set it down.... it does look mean
 
I beat the heck out of my impact warthog and it's still going.I used it as a wedge to free a lodged piece of wood from under a forklift.that's tough.
My final verdict......one solid little knife.:thumbup: :D
