i love the design of the warthog but im not quite sure if its a quality knife can anyone tell their input about this knife or others of similar designe...is it good for throwing......thanks

kabar is a good knife BUT the warthog is more of a show peice imo. the blade is designed for heavy work like chopping but the tang is basically the same as a classic kabar. you have this huge heavy blade with a thin tang, not a good idea when doing something like chopping. get a impact series warthog if you want a searious user.

i dont sudgest throwing that knife, nor any other knife thats not ment to be thrown. the impacts would hold up better if you HAVE to. im not saying that you cant throw a kabar, but if your not good at it and dont stick it every time the knife will end up breaking after a while. a good throw wont hurt a knife but a bad one will kill it.

I have the impact version. I've used it for skinning elk and it has a nice belly for this task. It takes a good edge, but doesn't hold it especially long. However it's a solid knife and one that I don't mind treating roughly.
