Ok so I finally gave in and ordered one of these, and I just came in today. It is a good looking knife except for the " Taiwan " stamp on the side od the blade. I do not expect it to do the same tasks as the Becker BK2, nor will I ask it to. I just liked the design of this knife so I added it to my collection. Has anyone else out there picked up on these ZK series knives? Whats your thoughts?
 
I have the War Sword. Thinking of picking up the Pestilance Chopper as well. Maybe I'm just falling for the gimicky marketing, but I really like the whole series. They're just damn cool looking.

The gimmick on these knives, is that they maybe ZK, but the zombie reference doesn't just transition to the handle. All of these blade shapes, were "dead" and have been resurected by Kabar, for another run.

They all come from some ancient blade of days gone past.

Oh, and there is two more ZK knives coming unveiling in less than a week. A heavy duty folder and another large fixed blade.

Is that the super secret one that we weren't supposed to know about? Or is there another secret blade to be excited about now?

The one we saw in the group shot with the tweeners and the combat khurki proto a while back?

Nope, not the super secret one.

And yes, that is the one that you saw in the photo. I been calling it the Orc Smasher, because it is a monster. Got some heft and a solid grind on it. Shoulde a destroy-omatic. :D

The folder is not really new, just new with the ZK's.

Sweet, thanks for the info. That means that we can still be excited about something new :).

And yea, that "orc smasher" was brutal looking. Looked almost like a single solid piece of plate metal (with a spike!).

And my guess for the beefy folder is a toxic green Mule :).

If you look through moose and I's posts in this thread, it looks like we already know which things are coming out, just not the names.

Here is a photo of what I think we're talking about. Its the obvious orc smasher in the shot...

That's really cool. I knew they had been based on older blades, but I never made the connection from that to the whole zombie theme. That's super cool. Now to go look at the Pestilance Chopper again, with my hand over the "buy now" button, trying to figure out how I can justify to the purchase to my wife. ;)

Yep, this was pretty much my reasoning as well. I picked up the little folder, and I like it. I throw it in every once in a while in my EDC rotation of knives. I may pick up the Famine sometime too its definitely my favorite looking one of the bunch.
