Hi Folks,

This is my new best friend. I've wanted a 1940's era KA-BAR for a long time, and after awhile, just decided to make my own. It's not historically accurate, but I'm pleased with it. It has a 8.24" forged blade of 1095 steel, and a stacked leather handle. It's light, nimble, and feels great in the hand. It's screaming sharp, and just a blast to carry. As always, I think you for taking the time to look at my work, and deeply appreciate your comments.

Looks like a very servicable knife for the chores the Ka-bar was intented to do!
Digging a fox hole, opening ammo crates, cutting rope, building a lean to shelter, opening cans, cleaning small game etc and fighting.

Ed Fowler wrote a very informative artice in his Knife talk series about the Ka-bar. You may enjoy reading it.

Thanks, Laurence

Mine can do all of those chores, but I'd hesitate to use any knife to dig foxholes. I just felt it was a good design to use as a camping, personal carry knife. I'm planning a woodcraft style sheath, with a firestriker and sharpening stone carry. Sorta like this one.

Thanks, Hengelo. I'm glad you like it. I admit, I do too. So much, I have two others on my bench right now.

That is pretty cool and that is coming from a fellow Virginian. Two more on the bench huh? For sale?
