Hi Guys,

I've long wanted a 1040's era KA-BAR, but they are getting pretty rare. Additionally, there's a lot of fakes out there. So I decided to make my own. It's not historically accuare, it's slightly longer, thicker, and wider, but it still remains faithful to the design and intent of the original KA-BAR. This one has a forged 1095 blade, tempered to 60RC. The guard and pommel are 100 year old wraught iron. I wanted the knife to look as if it has been around awhile, so I didn't shine the leather up too much. The handle is absolutely waterproof, and the blade has been aged. It's going to make a superb trail knife. All I have left to do now is make a great sheath for it. I'm not going to copy the sheath shown, but mine will have somewhat the same design. Let me know what you think, I welcome all comments.

The "vintage" quality really stands out and it's simply beautiful!

That's so nice of you to say, and I'm happy you like the vintage look. I have since made another Ka-bar and it's a little more of a presentation knife, because it's a gift. They are actually not all that easy to make, but I enjoy them a lot. Thanks for your comments.
