Ka-Bar

Ka-Bar
Any owners? I have two TDI's that are edc.

Can you be a bit more specific on exactly what your question is?

Ka-Bar makes a great many designs. Lots of us own various Ka-Bars ranging from slip joints to machetes. In which ones are you interested?

IF you have two TDI's that you carry for EDC, what do you think of them? or are you proposing to carry a TDI for EDC and want to know if we think that's a good idea?

Sorry, i'll clarify I have 2 TDI's and wanted to know if anyone else had them and had anything to say about thier experience with them. I was tired when i posted this last night and see that i did not make much sense there. I am considering changing out my 2" Plain edge Coated TDI for something in the Spyderco family. I am not incredibly impressed wth the IWB clip that Ka-Bar sells and it is hard to get to a place where i can deploy rapidly with the original rig. I cary it in uniform and an not put it on my belt without it interfering with my duty belt.

So i guess what i am asking would be is there any other rig i can buy that anyone else has used or should i just go ahead and buy the Spyderco.

Oh.
There's more than a couple LEO's who regularly post here. One of them will be able to give a more hands on answer than I could as a civilian. From what I have read Spydercos are popular among the constabulary for all sorts of duty uses, not just as a "last option knife" as the TDI is designed to be.

I own 3 Kabar Doziers, a Mule, and 2 Kabar USMC type fixed blades. Great knives for the $. Everyone should own at least 1 Kabar Dozier for $20. I'd like to own more but haven't hit the lottery yet.

Big :thumbup::thumbup: for Kabar.

I'm no LEO tho, currently a laid off IT guy working at Home Depot.

im not permitted to carry a fixed blade on duty, though i don't know if i would anyway.

so i think i have found the next best thing(s).

i carry a waved emerson combat kerambit support side in my sap pocket. in my gun side sap pocket i have a rotation. lately its been: emerson cqc8, emerson persian, hinderer xm18, or spyderco s90v military. at my agency, ive converted quite a few people to a waved emerson knife. mostly kerambits, but there are a few commanders as well. maybe 10 total. there are a few benchmades, a few kershaws, and lots of spydercos.

for the more budget minded, i normally recommend a spyderco waved endura (about $65).

for a fixed blade, consider one from hide-away knives. they make a rig that attaches to the rear of your mag pouch. pretty slick design.

OK i definitely want a Dozier.

And MORIMOTOM i want your Karambit. I Also have the $65 in my pocket for the waved Endura right now and am just looking for a local shop to buy from here.

The Hide-Away sounds wounderful and will definitely need to find its way to the Dasher house.
