Went to a gun show last weekend and picked up this Kabar #1108 Stockman. It appears to have jigged delrin covers and stainless blades, but if anyone knows for sure I would appreciate the information. Also, approximate year of manufacture. What I have been able to find is that Kabar made their knives from the mid '60s to 1978, but Camillus made some more after that date. Any info would be a blessing, thanks in advance.

Jeff, I believe you nailed it with stainless and delrin. I also agree about the manufacturing as well. She sure is a beauty:thumbup:

Good lookin knife. The Kabars have been on my radar lately. Gotta love a stockman!

Thanks, everyone, for the good words, it is a very nice stockman for $30.

So, Paul, do you think this is a 1970s knife, or a Camillus made from later, possibly the mid '90s?

Jeff, no authority here my friend but I lean towards Camillus? Just a great knife regardless:thumbup:

I bought this Kabar medium stockman #1081 new at the Camp Lejeune MCX in DEC 1998; I bought the 1108 several years ago - both were made by Camillus with Delrin handles and have carbon steel blades. Kabar knife displays were pretty popular around this area in the late 90's and for the next few years. I also had a Kabar Barlow, made with similar construction to these two, that I bought at the Western Auto store in downtown Jacksonville about the same time I bought the 1081, gave it away to a buddy before I ever took a picture of it. Black Mamba, I believe your knife is from the same era as mine. OH

Thanks, Paul and OH, I guess Camillus made from the late '90s is our best info. Really appreciated!
