I just got a Kabar 1232 hunter knife. Below is some initial observations and results of testing. Sorry I dont have any pics.

Ergonomics- very lightweight and balances well in the hand. Control cuts were easy to accomplish and even with wet hands the grip was not as slippery as I would have expected.

Blade- 4 inches of AUS6 steel. It was razor sharp out of the box and easily cut paper and cardboard. It also was great at stabbing. I batoned three 2inch wide sticks with ease though I would not make it a habit with this knife.

Sheath- leather with a button strap that holds the knife securely in the sheath. The sheath is nice for the price and attaches comfortably to belt via a belt loop at top of sheath. You can carry this one all day and would barley notice it.

Overall opinion- very capable knife perfect for skinning and light to medium camp chores. Nice for whittling. For the money it is worth having around. I only paid $33 shipped to my door for it which is a great value. This model has been around a long time which doesnt surprise me due to its features and capabilities.
