Both of them are Kabar combat Bowier. they have the same blade material.
But about the tough, the durable and the hardness, which one is better?

These don't have the same blade material, bladeHQ lists the 1277 with 1085 steel, the bk9 is 1095CV. The 1277 has thicker steel, but I know I truck the 1095CV in Becker's personally. Handle shape plays a role too, but that's largely opinion. The 1277 is pointier, so more stabby if you want/need that... The bk9 is nearly $50 more also, so, I believe it's better, and fir that price difference, it should be. I haven't used a 1277 though, so take this with a grain of salt.

There is a reason the BK9 is known as the King.

Hail to the King, baby.

As that immenient philosophizer once said - "You can't not have a 9!"

So the BK9 is more suitable for survival tool?:)

Personally, I would say yes, though there are many with much more experience and use of both knives than me. If I was gonna choose, I'd go bk9, eben if it meant I had to save up/wait for it, and I'm not a patient person lol.

Why the BK9 ...

- Better steel, 1095CroVan vs 1085
- Better for chopping and batoning
- Exposed tang for hammering and smashing
- Removal scales, easily mod'ed or replaced with G10/Micarta/Wood, even factory color Zytel
- Better handle ergos
- Better sheath

For survival, especially when processing a ton of firewood is not a major requirement, consider the BK2.
- Cheaper than BK9
- Thicker, .25" vs .188"
- Shorter, 5.25" vs 9"
