I have a Kabar 1607 Folding Hunter. The blade is stamped Cleveland, OH on the front, and Hong Kong on the back. about 5" closed + 4" clip point blade. I'm hoping for some info if anybody knows if this is a decent knife. I will tell you what I think I know, because there is not a lot of info on this one so I've pieced together some things. please correct me if I'm wrong.
- I'm pretty sure this was a Ka-Bar "inspired by" the Buck 110.
- These knives were produced for only a few years in the mid 80's
- A knife in the same product line was referenced to have 420J2 blade steel, so I assume this one does as well considering the possible Buck inspiration.
- The blade is thick, I'm thinking 5/32"
I don't really know anything else about it and I'm wondering if it's worth keeping in the collection, since I have literally never used it since I bought it in 1994!
