Kabar 272-6

I have recently aquired a knife collection from my wife's grandfather. One knife is a Ka-Bar 272-6. Best I can tell is that it's called "Trusty" from other posts. I would like to see if anyone has info on this knife such as date of manufacure, value, etc. Any info would be appreciated.

Picture please. Model 72 was called "Trusty" in the old catalogs, the first 2 is for the stag handle, and your knife will have a 5&1/2' blade although the 272-6 would normally indicate a 6" blade. Dating is tougher without a photo, but it will be between 1923 and 1942, may be able to get a closer idea with a photo. Usually the ones with the model number on the guard are earlier knives. Photo of sheath will also be helpful.
