The BK2 sheath is dulling the blade and completely dulls it within 10 times of removing the knife. Other than the sheath, I have found (to no surprise) that this is a great knife. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to fix this? Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.:)

I have been having the same problem with my ESEE 3 knife. When I took my blade out of the box originally, the knife was sharp to the touch. However, after sheathing the blade many times and unsheathing it, I have found that my blade has lost its edge. It feels blunt to the touch and will no longer cut paper. I have not even used the knife yet.

On the Becker forum here there are a lot of good ideas for modding the factory sheath. I simply had a nice kydex one made and that solved the problem.

After all the stuff the BK-2 can hack, punch, cut through and slice how a plastic sheath can dull the edge is very surprising to me. I slam my BK-2 in and out of the factory sheath all the time and have no issues with the edge. This is with less than 20 deg. bevels on the edge.

1095 chro/van against plastic.

Like GingivitisKahn said , just use the heck out of it and sharpen it on a regular basis like anything else.:)

I would hate to get lost in some funny confusion on what knives we were talking about.

I sure know that my BK2 came sharp enough to cut for me. Especially since it like a modified crowbar. To the OP I hope you got your problem fixed.
