When I think of survival knives, these are the two that simply cannot be matched in terms of the wide range of applications covered by these two knives. I have them both, and I think they're both wonderful. It's so hard to pick one over the other, but if I had to, then give me the BK7. To me, that's the end all, because when it comes to survival, these are the two that you want available. Which knife do you prefer? If anyone has any experiences with these knives in survival situations, I would like to hear about it.

Best,

Tajbral

Both are great knives, you can't choose wrong between them.
I prefer the standard handles of the Becker over the old blocky Esee... but I replaced the handles on both :p

And this thread needs pics! :D

ESEE 6 is simply the better knife.

Marginally better 1095 heat treat, better handle materials, better blade shape for bushcraft and camp use.

The handle shape on the Becker is great though. Just wish it wasn’t slippery plastic.

They're both great knives with similar design goals in mind to my knowledge. Asking folks to pick between the two would start as much debate as asking people if they liked blondes or redheads more.
I think there should be points earned for derailing a thread. I digress. I have my eyes on a Winkler.

Back on topic, a Brunette ESEE 6.
