I was passed down an almost mint KABAR BOWIE knife with a true stag handle and a very cheap looking sheath.I think from the 1960's or the 1970's.My father was given this knive to pass down to me and he just passed and I took the knife out for memories....he would allow me only to handle with his supervision when I was a kid(I am pushing 50).It has "J . BOWiE" ENGRAVED into the blade.....my father ..as I remember explained KABAR had the no frills sheath...it was the knife itself that was the work of art.Got a spanking for touching the blade one time!!!So was always instructed to wipe blade after each time she was pulled out.Any idea about this piece?First time posting...thanx..also could not find a stamp or #...and the "rivets"...look like brass(5 small ones per side to hold handle to the full tang)and knife measures 13.25 inches.

It is hard to tell much without pictures. The easiest way is to get an account on a photograph hosting site (I use Photobucket.com), then link it here using the icon that looks like a picture of a tree. Plus this would be better suited for General Knife Discussion or Bernard Levine's forum as KaBar is a production company.

Good Luck on your search.

Nutsoknives showed a pick of my knife in the Kabar section....the lower picture is her. Will be posting picks.Thanx
