Kabar Dogshead guard/ricasso gap

My Kabar has a slight gap between the guard and the blade. Could I fill it with silver solder, Krazy glue, or truck bed liner spray, or should I ignore it? I notice some of my WWII Kabars have a similar gap, with no apparent damage, tho I do wonder what their tang looks like under the leather washers.

wanna be Rambo suggested epoxy, so I mixed some black leather dye with
west systems epoxy, and it seems to do the trick.
