Hello everyone.
So i was thinking of buying a Kabar Dozier Folder as a gift. So i was wanted to know what other people thought about. And if anybody else has given or recieved one as a gift. I have heard a lot of good things about the Dozier line so i thought it would be a good idea for someone who does not carry knives that often.
Thanks for any help, Matty :)

I had wanted to give a nicer knife to my FIL this year (I've customized a spyderco for him but I want to also give him a factory knife so he can have a user too, incase he doesn't want to carry the custom) but I'm not going to have the funds to do that so now I'm looking at getting a kabar dozier for him and possible for my mom aswell (I wanted to get her a multi-tool but we got her a bunch of other crap already). I think they're great knives for gifts for NKP.

Carried one for a time, it has moved on to my dad now, though. I think it's a great gift knife, it will definitely hold up to some serious abuse. :)

It's a great knife, with a very solid lock up and an excellent design. No frills. The AUS 8 won't hold an edge for super long, but you should be touching up your edges after use anyways, so there's no real drawback there. Get it.

Very practical and cost effective knife. I like the folding hunter. Considering getting the larger one. Of course I would prefer to get a real Bob Dozier folder.

A great gift especially for someone who is not a knife person. Not a ton of experience with the knife, but seems like a decent budget folder. It would be a good gift.

Its a phenomenal knife for the price. It would make a great gift for a knife fan who appreciates a simply and solidly built cutting tool. A non knife fan will use it and enjoy it...but will probably not aprreciate how good a knife it is. Still, it would be an excellent gift for that non-knifey person.

Excellent folder value, for sure. I have the clip point w/oval hole opener. I get a serious edge on it with very little effort on my SharpMaker.

You know your mother better than I, but somehow just can't picture a lady being enamored with any sort of OHO knife like that. Maybe get one in pink? :D

Sorry, i should have been more specific, its for my Father. :)
I just put an order for one :)

I agree with all of the above positive comments. I still have a few and carried one as an EDC for years. I've also given more of them as gifts than any other knife. They work for people that aren't all that familiar with knives on up to people who will appreciate what a great package they are. Mike

They are really a good knife for the price or perhaps even twice the price. I have one and have been very pleased with it. Like I said earlier, I want to pick up the larger one now and give it it try. I believe the larger one is made in China and the smaller in Taiwan.

I feel like with how much everyone like s them, the second i see it, im gonna wanna buy one for myself :D :)

I have a couple of these Kabar Dozier Hunter folders. I have the one with the hole and the one with the thumb-stud. I prefer the latter. I also have the Mini Dozier Hunter that's also great for it's size. For the price, these knives can't be beat. Now that XMAS is over, how did you father like the knife?
