Don't know much about manufacturer date, but that is a classic design. I have a Case knife like it.

Manufactured from mid 60s to 1980

If a Kabar knife has a model number on it, the consensus is that it is from after 1966 when Cole National bought the company.

Kabar's website used to have a PDF file on it that listed general initial date of production and status (discontinued/continued) as of around 2004. It's mostly correct.
