Hi, I've been looking at this tool for along time and I was wondering if anyone has something similar or the same.

I received mine a couple of days ago after favorable suggestions found on this board. I plan to use it several times a week at work and wanted something as minimalist as possible while offering all 3 utensils in a compact package.

I'll be honest with you. It felt a little on the light side when I first inspected it and I had a hard time separating the utensils from each other. Also, the knife-locking mechanism was VERY stiff. Of course, over time the stiffness will disappear.

The fork isn't as sharp as I imagined, and the overall fit-and-finish is lower than I expected. Then again, it's only a $20 tool, so it seems fair for the price range I suppose. Coming from using heavy stainless utensils on a daily basis, I think I was expecting too much to be honest. The spoon and fork both separate from the knife, but I had to adjust the mechanism that locks the fork to the knife because the fork was a little loose when locked next to the knife. Did I make sense there? This took about 30 seconds and it seems to be a tight little package now.

The knife locks into place with little play and is SHARP (I put a nasty gash in my thumb tonight while trying to undo the knife lock; see the above comment on the locking mechanism stiffness). Both the spoon and fork hold their positions well when folded out. Your thumbs will be hurting after the first couple of uses while trying to separate the utensils, but as mentioned before, that should diminish over time.

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and I'm positive it will serve its purpose well. The lightness will come in handy when camping or hiking, and the fact that all 3 utensils separate makes it convenient while cleaning. It's a handy little tool, and all things considered, I would buy it again if I had to.

Yes, the tool splits up into three separate pieces, all usable separately.

My wife uses one every day at work and is quite fond of it. As the other poster said, the quality isn't incredibly high, but it's a low priced tool, and it works well enough. The only thing you have to get used to is that the usable ends of the fork and spoon are not large. The spoon is teaspoon sized at best.
