i was going through the kabar catalogue last night and realized that they have a decent looking multi tool styled after some of the old fashioned classical style ones.

it looks like an interesting multitool that could be quite servicable, especially for the people that don't want to carry around a million bit drivers or other tools.

it is only fifteen and change USD, so it will not put a large hole in your pocket either, so it would not be a huge penalty to try one out.

what do you guys think? any good, or just a hunk of junk?

About fifteen years ago, SOG brought out their first multi tool, called the Tool Clip. (far left in photo below) It was of outstanding quality.

A few years later, I started seeing cheap junk copies of this design flooding the market. Some of the copies were from Taiwan, but most came from China. None of them were worth the steel they were made from.

I can't say for 100% positive about the Kabar tool, but it looks to me like one of those Chinese paperweights.

Yes, you see that one over here a lot in the 'impulse buy' type shops. I have one as a pattern, and I definitely wouldn't bother to actually use it except as a last ditch tool.
