I was hoping a direct response to my inquiry.. (The video shows how the plastic sheath dulls the bk14.. what modifications/ changes did kabar do now on its current sheaths to solve this problem?)

They lowered the amount of glass in the GLASS reinforced nylon.

As a side note, I have 6 or 7 of these sheaths and I've never had a problem with it dulling my knife because I press down on the spine of the sheath, while pressing up on the handle. If you have the spine sliding along the sheath and not the edge it doesn't have the chance to dull it.

I actually have had a dulling problem in the past, part of which is my fault. I used the stock sheath for a long time then I decided to strip the 14. Well when I did that the 14 rattled in the sheath all the time, so I surmise it would get dull just from loose fitting. I have since stopped using the stock sheaths, and my dulling problem went away. I'm not sure if it was the sheath or me or a combo of both, but I digress.

Its all in how you draw the blade....I have no issues at all. That said I do generally use a custom Kydex sheath by 710. Its far superior but the OEM sheath works fine if you practice the correct presentation/draw.
