This is my first post, so please bear with me. I recently saw what appeared to be a vintage 2 blade pocket knife that had "Kabar" on both the shield and the tang stamp. Did Ka-Bar knives mark their earlier pocket knives this way or is this a wanna be Ka-Bar? Thanks.

KA-BAR Knives (the current, official spelling and usage) used several different trademarks over the years. These help identify time periods for production. Your knife with "Kabar" was most likely produced in the 1970s-early 1980s based on the marking.

Today (and for the last 15 years) all KA-BAR knives are stamped "KA-BAR". Thanks posting, don't be a stranger.

Thanks OKB. Any idea where I can find some specs on this little knife? The only thing I can find on the KA-BAR web site was that the knife run started not later than the "mid 60's" and ceased in 1984. They don't have any historical dbase that is available to visitors so, I requested info from the company, however, if you have any suggestions as to where I can find some of the specs, I would surely appreciate it.

I would appreciate that also. KA-BAR was my first knife. Given to me by my my Pa. The second knife my son gave me was the USMC fighter.
