Just bought a Ka-Bar Warthog TSM that was described as Aus-8A blade. I read that the series ii used DIN 1.4116??? steel and the knife I received was a series iii which the Ka-Bar website shows as 3Cr13 steel. Ka-Bar keeps the same model number across major steel changes. I think this is misleading, unless my research is flawed in some way. Anyone want the chime in?
Update: Recently I read a reviewer who owned the Wathog series i, and he stated that the later models has mucher thinner blades. I had noticed on the series iii that the plastic bushings were quite thick, so this comment makes sense. In my opinion, Ka-bar has really cut the quality of the folding Warthog in order to keep the price point.
